AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 9 7900 and Ryzen 7 7700 CPUs already listed by retailers

Although the release of AMD’s new non-X AM5 CPUs is still a few weeks away, some retailers have already obtained the first details about the processors. The CPU enhancements for Lenovo PCs are currently available, with some initial prices serving as a placeholder.

In addition, the organization is validating Ryzen 9 7900 and Ryzen 7 7700 SKUs, which are believed to be 65W TDP SKUs (default). The configuration of each variation remains unchanged from the X series, with 12 and 8 cores respectively.

The clocks have changed. For example, the Ryzen 9 7900 has a base clock speed of 3.6 to 3.8 GHz (the exact frequency has not yet been confirmed). This is 1.1 to 0.9 GHz lower than the 170W 7900X. This is reduced by 0.9 to 0.7 GHz for the 8-core CPU.

Many retailers expect the first shipment within one to three weeks. However, neither price nor availability has been verified. Furthermore, the specifications of the new SKUs exactly match previous rumors. The official launch has not been announced, but AMD is expected to unveil the Ryzen 7000 series of non-X SKUs at CES 2023 in January.
