Apex Legends devs finally fix glitch in missing packs after Season 14 changes

Respawn has finally given Apex Legends players their missing packs to get past the Level 500 limit lifted in Season 14. Players can automatically redeem the rewards the next time they log in after August 23.

Apex Legends players rejoiced when Respawn finally lifted the long-established Level 500 limit in the Battle Royale. It’s now going all the way to Level 2000, where players will be able to get 345 extra packs on the grind to the top.

However, when it finally went live as part of Season 14, those rewards were not handed out. If you were a level above 500 (and back to level 1 before climbing back up), you would get some points, but not the packs. This angered players, who thought their hard-earned rewards would disappear.

Respawn has been working on a fix for a few weeks and it finally went live on August 23.

“We have many different systems in our game that track players’ levels, rewards, and overall progress in the game,” explains senior community manager ‘Kalyrical’.

“In a normal situation, all these systems talk to each other and work together, but when we updated our level cap, some of these systems started to mismatch. As a result, players could see their progression increase, but no rewards would be awarded. ”

Although the repair took “a little longer than” [Respawn] initially hoped,” they promise to make up for the players by backdating the rewards. Players just need to log in after August 23, and any missing packs will go straight to their inventory.

As for preventing similar accidents in the future? Respawn keeps a close eye on everything—especially when it comes to players’ hard-earned packs.

“We’ve set up more checks to make sure that when things get out of sync, the game will automatically check and award the right rewards.”
