Apple is competing with streaming giants to get its hands on a book chronicling the demise of popular crypto exchange website FTX.
Deadline recently reported that Apple is closing in on a deal to secure the rights to Michael Lewis’ book. The author is known for his work on ‘Moneyball’ and ‘The Big Short’. His latest work concerns the creator of crypto exchange FTX Sam Bankman-Fried and his demise after the platform collapsed in November. Before the crash, FTX’s CEO had a net worth of $26 billion, and the book explores how the crypto exchange went down.
The collapse of FTX not only brought down the native crypto token FTT, but also sent ripples across the entire cryptocurrency industry. Once the streaming rights are secured, Apple is believed to be showing it on Apple TV+.
Deadline said Apple faced competition from Amazon and Netflix, and the deal could run into “mid-seven figures,” according to the report.
