Apple Execs Reveal More Dynamic Island Details

Apple executives Alan Dye and Craig Federighi recently spoke in an interview about the iPhone 14 Pro feature, the Dynamic Island.

Federighi spoke about Dynamic Island during their interview with Japanese magazine brand Axis. He said the feature was the first major experience for the iPhone since the X model came out in 2018 and lost the Home button.

Dye, who unveiled the feature at the “Far Out” event in September, said Dynamic Island is blurring the line between software and hardware on the iPhone. He called it a classic example of “Apple-like development.” Dye went on to explain how Dynamic Island came about. He and his team devised a use of the extra space now that there is a smaller onboard camera system.

The iPhone 14 Pro Dynamic Island has been warmly received, some say it was Apple’s best design in years. It is believed that Android manufacturers want to replicate the technology on their devices.
