Analyst Ming Chi Kuo recently announced that Apple plans to sell 1.5 million AR/VR devices by 2023.
Kuo says the Cupertino-based company plans to launch the highly anticipated Apple AR/VR headset in January next year. The estimated cost of the device is around $2,000, making it a niche consumer product. With this in mind, Kuo believes device sales will likely exceed the target for that year.
Apple presented the AR/VR headset to company board members and claims the product is nearing launch. It is believed that there were several issues with the production and operation of the device such as performance issues and overheating before it could enter its final stage.
Rumors say the headset will have a chip equivalent to the M1 Pro, dual 8K displays, advanced eye-tracking technology and cameras to detect hand movements.
