With Assassin’s Creed Mirage now confirmed and ready for the horizon, information about the latest installment in the long-standing franchise is slowly starting to trickle in. Here’s everything we know about this brand new game, including details about the setting and main character.
AC Mirage will be Ubisoft’s next addition to the popular franchise. This content was originally intended to be an extension of the already released Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, but it was quickly promoted to a standalone game.
Ubisoft are masters of keeping their future games secret and Assassin’s Creed Mirage is no different. For much of the early months of 2022, the new Assassin’s Creed game was called Rift.
However, as speculated by Bloomberg, Rift is in fact the codename as the game has now been revealed as Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Assassin’s Creed title.
Does Assassin’s Creed Mirage have a release date?
As of yet, Assassin’s Creed Mirage has not received a confirmed release date. However, recent leaks suggest: fans can expect to get their hands on the new title sometime in the spring of 2023.
All the settings and plot details we know so far
One of the best aspects of Assassin’s Creed games is the locations and time periods. They take you back to a beautiful part of the world at a time when many have only seen remains. Then you can explore and experience the lives of these deadly assassins in that beautiful location.
Mirage is rumored to be set in Baghdad during the years 870-860 BCE during the Anarchy of Samarra. The game revolves around a young Assassin named basic Ibn Ishaqia character players will know and love from Valhalla.
Mirage will reportedly take control of the character in his youth. His journey will seem like he begins as a thief before finally being found and brought in by the Hidden Ones.
Fortunately, Mirage will reportedly be set in an equally beautiful part of the world. A location like this should introduce some great stealth capabilities and hopefully some nice scenery to go along with it.
Assassins Creed Mirage gameplay information
As for the gameplay, it’s thought to be a smaller experience compared to the massive open-world style games seen in the last Assassin’s Creed games. Presumably, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be a stealth-based game rather than exploration-heavy.
And while the most recent installment leaned heavily into the RPG genre, this new game will reportedly go back to the franchise’s routes and the more traditional AC experience that players have come to expect over the years.
Does Assassin’s Creed Mirage have a trailer?
No trailers or images of the game have been revealed yet. However, developer Ubisoft has promised to reveal more about the game at their Ubisoft Forward event on September 10.
