ASUS Republic of Gamers Introduces First ROG Mesh Wi-Fi System

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the ROG Rapture GT6, the first ROG mesh Wi-Fi system optimized for gamers. This tri-band WiFi 6 system uses a sophisticated mix of advanced components and software to deliver blazing-fast download speeds, low-latency gaming, elimination of dead zones, and robust security.

ROG Rapture GT6 can deliver up to 10,000 Mbps of bandwidth, thanks to two 5 GHz bands with speeds up to 4804 Mbps each, and a 2.4 GHz band with speeds up to 574 Mbps. This massive bandwidth can cover up to 5,800 square feet thanks to nine internal antennas and ASUS RangeBoost Plus technology. And for those who want true multi-gigabit wired connections, there’s also a 2.5 Gbps WAN port and LAN aggregation. Meanwhile, ROG touch includes three-level game acceleration to prevent jitter, reduce lag, lower pings, and increase speeds, enabling memorable gaming experiences.

Bold and functional design
ROG Rapture GT6 is built with premium form and function in mind. It has a sleek design by moving the many antennas from outside to inside. Its futuristic style is emphasized by an Aura RGB logo, cutaway vents and the ROG slogan For These Who Dare etched into one side. And top and bottom vents are aligned with the heat sinks inside, for ideal convective effects and heat dissipation. A Moonlight White edition is also available for those who prefer a brighter aesthetic.

A smart antenna works with RangeBoost Plus
The ROG Rapture GT6 has nine internal antennas, instead of the usual eight. The ninth is a smart antenna designed to detect optimal signal arrival directions for backhaul connections, improve mesh connectivity and eliminate WiFi dead zones.

ROG Rapture GT6 also uses RangeBoost Plus, the latest and most powerful evolution of ASUS’ renowned and exclusive collection of wireless networking technologies. The next-gen Broadcom WiFi chipset works together with multiple advanced ASUS features to extend signal range and overall coverage by up to 38 percent. This mesh WiFi system combines performance and beauty in a perfectly balanced package that takes the possibilities of whole-home WiFi 6 ecosystems to a new level of signal coverage and gaming experiences.

A high-capacity UNII-4 spectrum
The latest ROG WiFi 6 routers also have access to a newly available 5.9 GHz band, in the form of a third high-power 160 MHz channel. This channel is tailored to provide more bandwidth for the devices that need it most, or to increase backhaul capacity for setups that can take advantage of additional signal power. The 5.9GHz band is reserved exclusively for newer wireless routers, so users with compatible WiFi devices can enjoy less connection interference than before, especially in office or apartment environments where many nearby WiFi 5 networks may be competing for signal delivery.

Power protection and easy access
A newly enhanced ASUS network security package comes with more features than ever. ASUS Instant Guard allows users to use this router system as a VPN tunnel when on the go, providing a more secure internet connection when using public Wi-Fi. With the latest Instant Guard 2.0, the connection can now even be shared with friends and family via a simple URL link. Meanwhile, the Safe Browsing feature filters out unwanted content from search engine results for a more family-friendly browsing experience. Free lifetime subscriptions for Instant Guard and ASUS AiProtection are provided to users,

The two-piece mesh system can be set up in just three steps using the ASUS Router mobile app, which can then be used to monitor the network and change settings even when you’re away from home. Alternatively, the single version integrates with the app to extend AiMesh coverage in a few taps.

ASUS ROG Rapture GT6 will be available in the fourth quarter in North America.
