ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E Hero Motherboard Detailed

At AMD’s Meet the Experts event, ASUS detailed their upcoming ROG Crosshair X670E Hero motherboard, as well as more details about the Crosshair X670E Extreme, which they unveiled on Computex. We finally get a look at the rear I/O of the X670E Extreme.

Both boards have two USB4 ports that support DisplayPort Alt mode, two USB-C ports (1x USB 3.2 gen 2, 1x USB 3.2 gen 2×2) and seven USB-A ports. The Extreme gets 10 Gbps and 2.5 Gbps Ethernet, while the Hero only gets 2.5 Gbps Ethernet, but also an HDMI output. Both boards also have full audio support, WiFi 6E, and clear CMOS and BIOS flashback buttons.

Moving on to the Hero board, it has two PCIe x16 slots and a single PCIe x1 slot. There are four M.2 NVMe slots for your SSDs and a PCIe 5.0 riser card for an additional drive. On the front of the board are six SATA 6GB/s ports and a USB 3.2 gen 2×2 Type-C header that supports 60W USB PD and Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+. The Extreme board has a power design with 22 stages, while the Hero board has only 18 stages. Both boards will have the same 110 Ampere power ratings. You also get the Q release button for graphics cards and the Q latch for the M.2 SSDs.
