Book claims Ive exit due to culture change at Apple

A book on Apple describes Ive’s departure from the company and says it was due to executive burnout due to various structural and cultural changes.

“After Steve: How Apple Became a Trillion-Dollar Company and Lost Its Soul” was written by Tripp Mickle and became the subject of a New York Times article. In part, Jony Ive was believed to have resigned after seeing Apple change from a design entity to a utility brand.

Design chief Jony Ive resigned from Apple in 2019 and founded his own company LoveFrom. Before that I went through several changes like leading a bigger team and seeing Cook show less interest when it comes to product design.

The report included a private screening of the film ‘Yesterday’ with Ive and his design team. At the end, Ive said that ‘art needs the right space and support to grow’. A day later, Ive met his team and announced his departure from Apple.
