Buy New Shoes NBA 2K23 MyCareer: Adidas, Converse, Nike

Buying and equipping new shoes in NBA 2K23’s MyCareer mode is quite easy. Here is a guide that describes the necessary steps.

NBA 2K23 has made a slew of changes to the franchise’s long-running MyCareer mode. However, not all of these changes have been well received by fans.

First, players continue to express frustration with some of the mandatory quests and activities, such as the much hated skateboard mission.

Longtime fans have also taken offense at the incredibly low VC payouts for completing challenges and other tasks. But one thing in particular hasn’t changed much: the community’s love for in-game shoe shopping.

Buying and Equipping New Shoes in NBA 2K23

On PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, players just need to find their favorite shoe store in The City to get the ball rolling when grabbing new kicks – and there’s plenty to choose from: Adidas, Nike, Converse and Under Armor to name a few.

  • Once users have found a shoe store of their choice, they can enter and open the store menu. Clicking on the ‘On Court’ tab will reveal shoes that players can wear in MyCareer and PRO-AM.
  • Meanwhile, the options in the “Colorways” tab apply to kicks the character can deliver in PRO-AM, NBA, and Park games. (The color a player purchases is the color that will appear in all of the above game modes.)
  • After adding a pair of new shoes to the cart, NBA 2K23 players must use available VC to complete their purchase.
  • Once the retail area is complete, the only way to then equip the newly purchased kicks is to leave the shop.
  • Pressing the PlayStation/Xbox equivalent of the ‘Start’ button highlights the next step, followed by opening the ‘MyPlayer’ tab and selecting ‘Appearance’.
  • The ‘Clothing’ menu will open automatically, allowing players to outfit their new boots for The City, PRO-AM/Rec Center, On Court and Suits. Opening one of these tabs leads to another menu where shoe fitting/fitting should be an easily accessible option.

Of course, some NBA 2K23 players may find it worth keeping their VC for building out their MyCareer stats. Despite this, looking good heading into the NBA Finals will no doubt be a priority for others.

NBA 2K23 is available now for PC, PlayStation, Switch and Xbox.
