CFD Gaming’s PCIe Gen5 NVMe 2.0 M.2 SSD launched with up to 10 GB/s read and 9.5 GB/s write speeds

When it comes to SSDs, CFD Gaming is one of the first companies to offer speeds of 10 GB/s. Sequential read speeds of up to 10 GB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 9.5 GB/s will be available on their next-generation storage based on the NVMe 2.0 specification and configured with a PCIe Gen5 interface. The SSDs are based on PHISON ELECTRONICS PS5026-E26 and use Micron’s 3D TLC NAND flash technology.

Every new SSD has a large heat sink and a small fan to keep it cool. That means the heat is under control and the battery can deliver its promised speed. The company also guarantees that their SSDs use thermal paste and not thermal pads. As more storage solutions adopt PCIe 5.0, this change may become standard.

There are three sizes available in the PG5NFZ SSD family, each with a different amount of onboard DDR4 memory (from 2 GB to 8 GB) and different clock speeds. CFD Gaming claims that while the 1TB and 4TB options are still not available, the 2TB storage will be available for purchase in the month of November.
