Classic Vanguard Weapon Is Now Warzone’s “Best Sniper Rifle” After Season 5 Buff

The Vanguard M1 Garand has quickly become Warzone’s “best sniper rifle” after its big Season 5 buff, with expert WhosImmortal outlining his favorite build before Warzone 2.

Warzone Season 5 has already been confirmed by Activision and Raven as the final season of the Battle Royale lifecycle.

As a result, players settle into Season 5 and figure out which weapons dominate in the build-up to the BR sequel and Modern Warfare 2.

One is the M1 Garand, the classic CoD rifle that got a surprise with Season 5. The update reduced his recoil by 33%, increased muzzle velocity by more than 13%, and boosted a large number of weapon attachments. As a result, some have compared it to the once infamous DMR.

While the Vanguard iteration has generally struggled to affect the meta in any capacity, it’s now one of the game’s most popular weapons and, according to a Warzone expert, the best sniper rifle in the game.

Buffed M1 Garand is now Warzone’s best sniper rifle

In a September 9 video, WhosImmortal outlined its picks for the best meta-weapons in each category following the changes in Season 5.

Taking first place in the sniper rifle category was the semi-automatic Vanguard AR, with the YouTuber saying, “The M1 Garand is the way to go. This is a new polished sniper rifle that, frankly, is very, very strong for players who can get it right. use … the damage output here is honestly better than most rifles. The TTK if you’re getting shots all the time is hyper-competitive.”

Of course, the semi-automatic nature of the M1 Garand will deter some players from using it. Semi-automatic weapons are inherently more difficult to use and punish players for missed shots to a greater extent.

However, skilled and confident players will only benefit from using the powerful rifle, especially with WhosImmortal’s recommended build:

  • End of a loop: MX damper
  • Walk: CGC Ironsides
  • Optics: G16 2.5x
  • Stock: CGC G2 quilted
  • Underflow: Carver Foregrip
  • Magazine: 6.5 Sakura 40 round drums
  • Ammunition: extended
  • Rear handle: Rubber handle
  • benefit: hardscope
  • advantage 2: at hand

Unsurprisingly, the class strives for maximum control and bullet speed at the expense of handling and speed (both are pretty mediocre on the M1 Garand anyway).

Since the specialty is medium and long range, players must invade with a close range SMG in the back pocket. Currently there is no better option than the PPSh-41 or Armaguerra 43, both of which dominate the pick rates in Season 5.

Pair one of those with the M1 Garand and players will be well on their way to achieving those all-important wins.
