dr. Disrespect explains why he was not accepted into the Modern Warfare 2 preview event

A select few got their first look at the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 during the recent NFL Draft in Las Vegas. But streaming superstar Dr. Disrespect was not invited to the event, and he explained why.

Since it was officially confirmed on April 28, the hype surrounding Modern Warfare 2 from 2022 has been hard to avoid. The prospect of classic maps and weapons from the 2009 original making a comeback has got fans excited to get their hands on it.

A few lucky NFL prospects and content creators were invited to see the game in action for the first time during the 2022 NFL Draft. Many were quick to share their impressions, such as Ahmad ‘Sauce’ Gardner playing the demo’ called insane.”

But popular streamer Dr. Disrepect was not among those to see any part of Modern Warfare 2, despite previously working on the series as a map designer in Advanced Warfare.

MW2 will be the next mainline Call of Duty game after Vanguard

During his May 10 address, Doc revealed that while attending the NFL Draft in Las Vegas, he got wind that other attendees were seeing footage of Warzone 2.

We now know that it was actually Modern Warfare 2 that was shown, not Warzone 2, but the streamer went on to explain why he was banned from the event.

“The Two-Time makes several phone calls to find out that there might have been… [a preview]’ he said during the stream. “However, the Doc wouldn’t be invited because of the Midnight Society studio.”

The YouTube star’s studio has been revealed for a while now, and he’s made no secret of his ambitions to challenge Warzone and Apex Legends in battle royale space. It seems Activision took notice and now considers Midnight Society a rival.

Doc didn’t seem to be phased out by missing Modern Warfare 2 footage, though. Instead, he saw it as a win for his fledgling game studio.

“Think about that position, champions … I love it,” he continued. “Midnight Society considered it a competitor, I respect it. I actually liked it.”

He went on to say that he “preferred that answer” rather than being invited to see the game, claiming it showed a “factor of respect” between the two companies.

Only time will tell whether Dr. Disrespect will be excluded from all upcoming Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 previews. But after the recent news that Midnight Society has engaged an Elder Scrolls and Halo developer, it’s clear that the streamer continues to plan to build a studio that can compete with Call of Duty.
