Intel’s Arc series has certainly impressed with its strong performance when it comes to synthetic benchmarks. However, these series seem a bit out of place when it comes to gaming. Intel claims that their latest Arc A380 desktop graphics card is 25 percent faster than the Radeon RX 6400, but let’s not forget that this claim is made in relation to the price of the two cards.
So far, only one slide has been released by Intel for the Arc A380 desktop GPU showing medium FPS with 1080p resolution and medium settings. What is striking is the fact that this slide does not seem to contain any information about the performance of the RX 6400.
The Intel Performance Index website has not provided any data that can be verified. 3DCenter has made every effort to validate some of the information that Intel claims is true.
The site states that the actual performance difference is about 21 percent (the difference is based on the price of the two cards). Speaking of actual performance, there seems to be only a 4 percent difference, putting it within the range of the Radeon RX 6400’s margin of error.
This was perhaps the main reason why 3DCenter took the initiative to reaffirm its previous performance prediction for the entire series. The performance results have turned out to be even more disappointing than previously reported. Intel’s flagship Arc A780/770 has shown worse performance results than the RTX 3060 Ti. Only those that fall under the upper mid-range Intel Arc desktop segment can compete with the RTX 3060 and 3050 models.
