Meta Quest Pro VR headset and controllers leaked in the wild

A video recently surfaced on the internet showing a detailed examination of the yet-to-be-revealed Meta Quest Pro. The video shows a Meta Quest Pro shopping pack in a place that resembles a “lost and found” hotel room. The leaked video of the new high-end VR headset hints at what’s next for the upcoming VR headsets.

The footage from the clip shows an opened box with a pair of motion controllers. The packaging is significantly different from that of the Quest 2. The video capture shows the front of the headset with triple video fit through lenses/sensors. Quite a big upgrade from the Quest 2’s nearly featureless front end, isn’t it? It seems that the controllers have also changed significantly this time. The makers skipped the bracelet and switched to something akin to a wireless version of the optional Nunchuck from the old Wii Remote.

The video ends with a look at the packaging sleeve. The inner box shows the Meta logo and the words ‘Meta Quest Pro’ and the same is repeated on the outer cover. The package contents of HMD, controllers and a charger or base station can be seen on the back; while the front has an image of a top view of the headset.

Reports indicate that the person who recorded the video claims that the packaging read “Not for resale – technical example”. Also, the person who accidentally left the headsets in his hotel room is said to have contacted hotel management to reclaim it.

The upcoming Meta Quest Pro is expected to be unveiled at the upcoming Meta Connect conference, on Tuesday, October 11.
