New ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 may be the first gaming laptop with RTX 40 GPUs

ASUS created a new chassis for their renowned gaming laptop series for Intel’s 11th generation Core series. Almost similar in size, but with a larger screen, the M15 transformed into the M16. Compared to the 15.6-inch model, the chassis was slightly smaller and lighter.

The fact that it now has a fast QHD (2560 x 1600) display with a 16:10 aspect ratio is more important. The M16’s screen is so large that it requires a 94% screen-to-body ratio. The IPS panel is Pantone calibrated and runs at a high speed of 165 Hz. The redesigned chassis and screen were the main selling points of this laptop. However, problems also began to appear here.

The exhaust forcing hot air directly at the screen was one of the issues noted by reviewers (the bottom bezel is very flimsy). According to the M16 2023 leak, nothing has changed. The resolution of the webcam was yet another problem. Compared to the earlier chassis, the M16 got the camera module, which was previously unavailable on the ROG Zephyrus M series. Even though the 2022 model has the Windows Hello functionality (face recognition for Windows OS), the 2023 model will get an update with a new module.

You can compare the design with the 2022 model (Intel Alder Lake). The only noticeable difference is the new camera module. The keyboard layout is different due to the different locations.

ASUS will almost certainly unveil the M16 2023 at CES 2023. All previous ROG Zephyrus M-series models used Intel hardware, just like this one. That said, this laptop should be equipped with Intel 13th Gen Core H-Series CPUs and GeForce RTX 40 GPUs.
