New ‘Scan Text’ Shortcut added to iOS 15.4 in Notes app [Video]

The addition of a “Scan Text” option for quickly scanning printed or handwritten text in the Notes app on iPhone and iPad is a new feature in iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4, released to the public last week.

Apple has published a video showing how to use Scan Text, which debuted in iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4. Just open the Notes app on a device running iOS 15.4 or iPadOS 15.4, tap the camera icon, select “Scan Text” and press the Insert button after adding text to the note. The “Scan Text” feature is also included as a shortcut in the Reminders app.”

In earlier versions of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, selecting text in the Notes app required tapping the text field of a note and then tapping the Live Text button.
