Pokemon Go players are outraged after the announcement of Elite Raid battles, with many areas unable to spawn Litwick Community Day Lampent Raids thanks to the 24-hour timers.

Pokemon Go players have expressed their much-needed excitement over the spooky Litwick Community Day event October 15, 2022, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time. The Ghost-type Pokemon is a favorite among many, and the increased chance of appearing Shiny makes the Community Day event a treat for those on the hunt.

However, the build was cut short by the update announcing the return of Elite Raid spawns. These particularly tough Raid battles will take over Gyms for 24 hours, with just 30 minutes to defeat the featured Pokemon after the Raid Egg hatches.

While many were already frustrated with the announcement, pointing out that the Elite Raids will negatively impact national players and those unable to attend in person, the returning feature had a different impact that many hadn’t anticipated. The new Elite Raid release overlaps with Pokemon Go Community Day – apparently ruining the post-event Lampent raids that many need to participate.

Elite Raid Eggs sniff Lampent Raids in populated areas

As noted in a Twitter post from pokedaxiNiantic didn’t seem to think through the release of Elite Raids clearly, saying, “Wait, this is so funny. No one at Niantic thought about the 24-hour elite raid eggs messing with Lampent 4-star raid eggs How did they miss this…” followed by a photo of a Pokemon Go card full of 24-hour Elite Raid Eggs.

The Litwick Community Day conflict is especially frustrating for those unable to participate in the 2-5pm period, as the Lampent Raids are the only way to force Litwick to spawn after the event.

Other Pokemon Go players added their thoughts as well, with a comment: “Don’t think they really care. ‘

Another trainer added: “I’ve said this before, if you work for ANY gaming company that plays the listed corporate game(s), MUST BE A REQUIREMENT. How do you make a product better/improve a product if they don’t use/interact with the product(s).

Many Pokemon Go fans have called Niantic to ask how they could not have noticed such a large-scale conflict, expressing irritation at the oversight.

While the Litwick Community Day was supposed to be an exciting event, many will now have the experience soured by the Raid Spawns’ traffic jam during the afternoon.
