The Pokemon Go Battle League offers players rewards for clearing various victory benchmarks, and trainers are not happy with the “pathetic” offer Niantic has made, especially the 400 victory items.
Pokemon Go’s signature combat system has come under scrutiny after fans noticed how much work they have to put in to achieve the highest rewards available.
If players remain committed and build up to 400 total Battle League victories, they will receive 5000 Stardust, a Charged TM and 10 Great Balls. While those items are certainly welcome, many complain that it’s not enough to justify the time spent getting there.
Pokemon Go Trainers Label Battle League Win Rewards “A Disappointment”
The conversation was sparked by a post on the game’s subreddit where someone asked if the community considered these decent takeaways after hitting 400 wins.
While there were a few people who commented that they liked the addition of the Elite TM, the resounding response was that Niantic is shorthanding its most loyal players by not sweetening the deal for them.
One fan commented that the difficulty of Battle League matches makes it even more disturbing that there isn’t a more tempting prize waiting at the end. “I think this is Niantic’s way of getting people to use the combat feature, but this isn’t working for me. I already know I’m never going to win that often,” they said.
Another player commented that everything in PoGo feels overpriced when you consider how much Stardust is earned while playing the game of course and that they could spend “months” collecting Stardust and only get enough out to make a total of raise two or three Pokemon.
While there are also Rank rewards that keep people coming back to the Battle League, there’s no doubt that the player base is ready for some major upgrades to the system.
