The update, which has failed December 1st, marks the beginning of the first ranked season in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This allows players to compete with each other, aiming to climb the rankings to become the very best, like no one ever was!

Bug fixes hopefully help performance issues
The developers are targeting several bug fixes in this update. In particular, they fixed an issue with the Elite Four where the correct music was not playing. As for the other bug fixes, they were not mentioned in the official patch notes.
But Nintendo did state that their “goal is always to give players a positive experience with [their] spell.”
The launch of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has been marred by performance issues, which developers hope to address in version 1.1.0.
