Rodolfo Castro’s iPhone makes a gaming appearance

MLB player Rodolfo Castro of the Pittsburgh Pirates slipped his iPhone out of his pocket during a game.

On August 9, against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Castro was about to slide to third base when his iPhone fell out of his pocket. Castro later told reporters that the event was a “terrible mistake” and that the whole thing was unintentional. He also said that professional ball players don’t go out on the field to grab a cell phone.

The MLB has had problems with the use of technology by the Arizona Diamondbacks. In 2015, the league approved the use of the Apple Watch, but fined the team for the same in 2017. The resulting investigation found that the Diamondbacks didn’t use the smartwatch to cheat, but they still had to pay.

It is not known whether the MLB will punish Castro or the team for the incident.
