In a recent teaser, Sapphire Technology revealed that “Vapor-X” would return on Radeon GPUs. While not part of the Radeon Vapor-X line of GPUs, this is the same vapor chamber technology found in the Toxic, Nitro, and Vapor-X series.
The teaser also shows that Sapphire’s Radeon RX 7900 XTX and XT NITRO GPUs will have three 8-pin power connectors. It’s also the first time we’ve seen a custom Navi 31 board with 20 different VRM stages.
This rough mockup shows that the Sapphire card is not noticeably wider than the AMD MBA (Made by AMD) design. The company improved the system by making it more complex and adjusting the way power is delivered. However, this should result in greater overclocking potential.
AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 series will debut in less than two weeks and a teaser video has just been released. Sapphire brought up two product codes, the 7900XTX and the 7900T. Custom cards were supposed to launch a few months after AMD’s reference designs, but this teaser suggests otherwise.
