Blizzard has released the season 2 trailer for Overwatch 2, confirming several content additions, including Shambali Monastery as a brand new map.

The Overwatch 2 Season 1 rollout introduced players to three new heroes – Kiriko, Junker Queen, and Sojourn – along with six maps and the Push PvP mode.

Still, the anticipation for the upcoming season 2 release is nothing but high. However, teasing new content isn’t the only reason for the hype.

Balance changes for a number of heroes, including Junker Queen and Doomfist, will also have fans eager to get their hands on the season update.

Shambali awaits you in the upcoming second season of Overwatch 2

However, the upcoming content add-ons were front and center in today’s season 2 trailer, the main ones being the new hero, Ramattra and the Shambali Monastery map.

Shambali, in particular, appears for a few seconds during the sneak peek and gets special attention around 26 seconds into the next post from Overexpected‘s Twitter account.

In terms of the overall design, Overwatch 2’s Shambali locale seems to have a lot in common with Nepal, an existing control map.

In a blog post, Blizzard confirmed that the card will indeed be a payload card with a lot of knowledge about Zenyatta and Ramattra.

Fortunately, the wait for these and other changes is almost over. Blizzard plans to kick off the second season of Overwatch 2 next week on Tuesday, December 6.

In addition to the new character and map, players can also look forward to a Zeus-themed Mythic Skin for Junker Queen, the Christmas Event, and Battle for Olympus LTM, the latter of which will release sometime in January 2023.
