We’ve reviewed a few different Silicon Power products in the past and they’ve proved to be not only solid, but also affordable. We hope the same goes for their latest UD90 Gen4 M.2 solid-state drive. This drive combines the Phison E21 4-channel controller with Micron 176-layer 3D TLC flash. With this combination, the drive achieves read and write speeds of 4800 MB/s and 4200 MB/s respectively. At a fairly low cost, this could be the drive to completely fill the M.2 slots on your new motherboard. Let’s see what it can do!
Special thanks to Silicon Power for providing the UD90 Gen4 NVMe Solid State Drive to review.
The UD90 comes in a rather small retail packaging. On the front, let us know the capacity, which is 1TB, and that the drive has a 5-year warranty. In addition to the 1TB capacity, the drive is also available in 250GB, 500GB and 2TB.
If you flip the package over the back, there’s some information about the drive in a handful of different languages.
