A new outage has ruined the Sims 4 for many players as their Sims are aging much faster than they should.
On Twitter and on forums, Sims 4 players have documented how this new glitch has affected them, with their characters aging and “longevity” turned on.
According to players, this glitch affects Sims on and off lots. One player explained how they checked out a household for ten minutes before coming back to find that all their Sims had aged.
“Children are teenagers and young adults are almost elderly. None of their birthdays came up. What can I do to fix this?” wrote the concerned player on Twitter.

EA Responds to Sims 4 Aging Issue
On social media, quality designer SimGuruNick commented on how the team was aware of the issue and is working to resolve it.
“We are looking into this, thanks for letting us know!” he said to a fan.
Despite The Sims 4 receiving a lot of praise lately, the response has been loud. Especially since the problem affects both PC and console players. Even this writer got a deafening hearing from his girlfriend after experiencing the aging glitch. Some have even asked how this bug managed to sneak through at all, for starters.
“How the hell does something like this get through the testing phases?!” asked one.
Fortunately, there may be a couple of ways around the glitch. First, it only seems to affect the long-life option, so switching to normal or short might help. Of course, there could be other issues with the current build, so play at your own risk.
Hopefully this glitch can be fixed in an emergency update, but until then, pay attention when loading your games.
