Warzone’s Season 5 Reloaded update brought about some major changes to the weapon pool and even remade a classic Black Ops Cold War rifle meta.

The Season 5 Reloaded update for Warzone is the last major shake-up that the Battle Royale will experience before the launch of Warzone 2.0 – which is expected to come in November.

With players looking to give the second Call of Duty BR a pretty big goodbye, they’ve revisited some classic weapons and gear. The Grau, M4, and XM4 have all skyrocketed pick-rate charts in recent weeks, but the meta is still dominated by Vanguard weapons.

However, the older weapons are still quite viable, and so is the QBZ from Black Ops Cold War. While the speed of choice hasn’t really skyrocketed, some experts still give it the nod that it’s useful.

Cold War’s QBZ Is Meta Again In Warzone Season 5 Reloaded

So does Warzone YouTuber WhosImmortal, who highlighted the weapon during his updated meta-tier list video after the Season 5 Reloaded update when the QBZ got a slight improvement.

“The QBZ, which I’ve been on for a while because it’s always had a very consistent TTK and for a while I had it in the top meta category because it’s so similar to the XM4 which is a top tier gun,” said the YouTuber .

“They ended up polishing the QBZ with damage multipliers too. I feel like it deserves a spot here with the XM4. These two weapons are similar in so many ways. QBZ, great TTK, XM4 has a little easier recoil. When it comes down to it arrive, the two are together.”

As noted, the buff didn’t make every player sit up and take note of the QBZ. According to the WZRanked stats, it still only has a pick rate of 0.27, but it’s clearly viable.

Who knows if we’ll see some more of it in Caldera, Fortune’s Keep, and Rebirth Island before the launch of Warzone 2.0, but it’s worth a shot for at least a few games.
