SteelSeries adds three new models to its feather-light gaming mouse line

SteelSeries is reportedly adding three new models to its feather-light gaming mouse lineup. The three new models are the Aerox 9 Wireless, the Aerox 5 Wireless and the Aerox 5. All these three models will give the game even more buttons. Apparently SteelSeries listened to the demands of their game users who asked for more configuration options. In addition, they claim that these mice are the lightest multi-genre mice in the world.

To get to the truth, these latest additions won’t be the lightest out there. According to SteelSeries, the knob-to-weight ratio will not improve compared to the rest of the Aerox range. But that said, these are still incredibly lightweight devices. The Aerox 5 is the lightest of all these. The mouse is wired and weighs only 66 grams. This is only slightly heavier than the Aerox 3 2022 Edition which weighs only 59 grams. The added weight can be justified with the three new buttons added to the Aerox 5, giving a total of nice buttons on the device. Considering the number of buttons on the mouse, the weight is still impressive. In addition to more buttons, this model also comes with an improved 18,000 CPI sensor.

If you decide to go for the wireless version, you’ll enjoy the same button and sensor upgrades with a small weight gain. The wireless Aerox 5 weighs 74 grams. For connectivity, this variant has a 2.4GHz wireless dongle or Bluetooth that lasts up to 180 hours without recharging. Thanks to the Quantum 2.0 wireless technology, you only need 15 minutes to charge to get through 40 hours of use. The wireless Aerox 5 costs $139.99, while the wired variant costs $79.99.

The most high-end of all these new models is the wireless Aerox 9. It weighs a total of 89 grams and comes with 18 configuration buttons and a dozen thumb buttons. The charging and wireless playtime for this is the same as the Aerox 5. The Aerox 9 costs $149.99.
