WD Black SN850X Gen4 NVMe Solid State Drive Review

Western Digital’s WD Black SN850 was a very impressive, impressive drive when it came out, and quite frankly it will be one of the best performing Gen4 drives out there to this day. Well, Western Digital recently introduced the WD Black SN850X, which comes with faster speeds, updated BiCS5 3D TLC NAND, and a new Game Mode 2.0 created to speed up game loading times. The advertised speeds of the 2TB version we’re reviewing today are 7300MB/s read and 6600MB/s write. The drive is offered in heatsinkless and preinstalled heatsink versions, and this is one of the few high-end Gen4 drives to have a 4TB version available. Let’s install it and see what it can do!

Special thanks to Western Digital for providing the WD Black SN850X Gen4 NVMe Solid State Drive to review.
