With the upcoming launch of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 in October and November respectively, many Call of Duty players are wondering if their CoD points, the native in-game currency in CoD, will carry over.
We already know that cosmetics already purchased in Warzone 1 and other multiplayer CoD titles will not carry over as Call of Duty moves to a unified 2.0 engine and aligns all future games.
That said, while already purchased cosmetics may not carry over to the new generation, many players still have in-game cash in CoD Points for fear of them becoming useless after the switch.
Alternatively, there’s a concern that if they spend all their CoD points now to be safe, the cosmetics they own won’t be able to be used as much due to the switch to Warzone 2, essentially making it a waste of money.
Will CoD Points carry over to MW2 and Warzone 2?
At the time of writing, it’s unclear if CoD Points will carry over to the new titles, as Activision and developers Infinity Ward say nothing about what happens to unused Points.
These points have been carried over between Call of Duty games in the past, such as from Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard.
However, since Warzone has always worked in the same game, it’s hard to say whether Activision will follow the same route for their new Battle Royale experience.
With launch just around the corner, it’s unclear if Activision plans to reveal what happens to leftover CoD points in the new games, but we’ll find out soon enough anyway.
